Course Curriculum :
. Microvascular and microneural anastomoses workshop.
. High speed pneumatic drill workshop.
. Neuroendoscope workshop.
. Spinal Implantation workshop.
. Neurosurgery operative video / photo capture and editing workshop.

Tentative Scientific Program

Day-I (9:00a.m to 7:00 p m)
Course 1: Workshop on Neuroendoscopy Techniques
Session I: Skull Base Endoscopy
• Endoscopic anatomy of and approaches to sella and skull base
• Anatomical demonstration
• Neuroendoscope workshop.
• Video presentations of endoscopic endonasal pituitary / skullbase surgery
• Discussion
Session 2: Ventricular Endoscopy
• Microscopic and endoscopic anatomy of and approaches to the ventricles
• Anatomical demonstration
• ETV in triventricular hydrocephalus.
• Video presentations of endoscopic treatment of intra-ventricular cyst /    lesions
• Discussion

Demo + Hands-on endoscopy practice on models
Handling and maintenance of endoscopic equipment
Demo + Hands-on Endoscopy practice on Cadavers (Endonasal Skull Base)

Day -II (8:30a.m to 7:00 p. m)

Course 3: Workshop on High Speed Drill Techniques
Course 4: Workshop on Micro-Suturing Techniques
Course 5: Workshop on Fibrin Sealant Repair Techniques
Course 6 : Neurosurgery Operative Video / Photo Capturing Workshop


Session I: Skull Base Endoscopy
•Planning, technique and tips of calvarial and skull base craniotomies/osteotomies and laminoplasty.
• Planning, technique and tips of anterior clinoidal drilling
• Planning, technique and tips of petrosal drilling
• Planning, technique and tips for usage of high speed drills in neurosurgery
• Dural repair and management of CSF leak.
• Principles of microsuturing: nerve and vessel (indications, technical tips and complication avoidance)

Hands-on practice

• High Speed Drill Techniques on sheep head and scapula
• Micro-suturing techniques on sciatic nerve and femoral/carotid artery of anesthetized small animals rats/guinea pigs
• Fibrin sealant repair techniques for dural nerve and vessel anastomosis

Day-III (9:00a.m to 3:00 p m)

Course 7: Workshop on Spinal Instrumentation
Session I: Cervical Spine

• Anterior cervical plate fixation (indications, technical tips and complications) + DEMO
• Odontoid screw fixation (indications, technical tips and complications) + DEMO
• Occipito cervical fixation and C1-C2 transarticular screw fixation (indications, technical tips and complications) + DEMO

Hands-On Practice Cervical Spine Instrumentation
Session II: Dorsal and Lumbar Spine:

• Dorsal and Lumbar pedicles: Surgical Anatomy : Tips and Concerns.
• Dorsal and lumbar pedicle screw fixation (indications, technical tips and complications) + demo
• Anterior thoracolumbar fixation (indications, technical tips and complications) + demo

Hands on Practice Dorsal and Lumbar Spine Instrumentation

Guidelines:

. Strictly on first come first serve basis. Seats limited to 5 stations for 12-15    candidates per Workshop
. Registration includes all consumables, round the clock tea/ coffee, lunches    x 3, workshop folder with study materials.
• Accommodation for delegates if required can be arranged on extra        payment on case to case basis.
• Certificate from Head of the Department regarding Resident */trainee *    status (participation limited to final year or post M.Ch / DNB  /    Neurosurgery    Boards /fellows). Registration includes hostel    accommodation for residents    and trainees.
